What good is the warmth of summer
Living where I do, the winters are measured on a scale of cold to bitterly cold but when the sun shines, no matter what the actual temperature I feel warmed. This picture was taken on a cold day in early Spring when our breath froze as it hit the air, the trees were bare of leaves and the snow still iced the high peaks ahead of us. And yet I feel its warmth and as John Steinbeck said ‘what good is the warmth of summer without the cold of winter to give it sweetness’.
So there you have it, my offering for The Weekly Photo Challenge entitled Warmth.

We feel the same way about the sun in cold weather, but my People didn’t know that Steinbeck line, so thank you for sharing it–and the beautiful photo, of course.
We love Steinbeck and i know where you live you get plenty of cold weather as well as warm Albert!
Huh, who wants to live in a place where the sun shines very day and rarely can you be seen in anything but shorts, flip-flops and a thin cotton top?
I actually love weather and seasons per se and we get our share in Cantal 😉
The radiant heat from the sun kept me warm on cold days in the foothills and mountains of Colorado but here in West Michigan the sun is often hidden behind lake effect clouds coming off of the great lakes. Here, in Michigan, 23 degrees F is coat weather, but in the sunshine of Colorado it was put on your boots, go out in a short sleeved shirt and shorts and shovel snow. The sunlight is everything. Thanks for sharing.
