Sounds like a whisper ….

I’ll fly to Paris tomorrow and then on to Boston (with The Flying Bean) so here is one more post from the past before I start to half-bake some fresh stuff.   I hope my French has improved quite a bit since I wrote this – getting to grips with American can be every bit as challenging …

  1. Having grown up in Maine, with french speaking Canada right next door, I have always felt french is one of the most beautiful of languages. It just seems to flow naturally, melodically in a way that just presents as a way of communication that imparts romance and all things soothing, and yet can also seem brash and angry. Us Americans on the other hand, can sound rude, abrupt and disjointed. Forever throwing out curse words as everyday interactions with no thought of how we sound. I wish I had taken a french class in school.

  9. Oops! Than where my Mom taught Spanish yet knew so much from her own teaching it (career of 30 years)
When I took a year of French, I may have shared this before, the teacher was from Louisiana and knew Creole which blends the 2 languages so she liked my “French” but probably most French people would have cringed! Hugs, Robin Enjoy your autumn and hope the fall colors come to New England and enchant you! <3
